The first impression of your building and neighborhood comes down to how the shared spaces are maintained. Here are the key areas and how to keep them looking tidy.
π Staircase & Elevator Etiquette
- The stairwells and elevators are high-traffic areas, so keep them clear of any personal items like strollers or sports gear. That’s a safety hazard!
- Some buildings have special door codes (check your OmaPSOAS) to get in. Don’t share these with anyone – we want to keep the building secure.
- If you ever notice any suspicious activity, let the property supervisor know.
π± Balcony Basics
- Your balcony is the perfect spot to enjoy some fresh air and dry your laundry. Just make sure not to shake out rugs or toss anything over the edge.
- No grilling or smoking allowed – we don’t want to bother the neighbors.
- Keep any clotheslines out of sight from the street for a tidy look.
- Hanging of any objects outside the railings of the balcony is not allowed.
- Keep them clean and clear of snow in winter.
π¦ Storage Room Rules
- Most apartments have separate storage lockers for extra belongings like bikes or skis. Claim your spot through OmaPSOAS.
- These storage areas aren’t playrooms, so keep them locked up tight.
- And absolutely no storing dangerous items like gasoline – safety first!
- When you move out, be sure to fully clean out your storage locker.
πΏ Sauna Sessions
- Sauna time is a great way to relax and socialize. Just reserve your spot through OmaPSOAS.
- Follow the instructions, use the seat covers, and leave the sauna clean for the next person. And hands off the thermostat!
- Do not use water excessively.
- Furry friends have to sit this one out – no pets allowed.
π Laundry Room Tips
- The laundry facilities are free to use, but you’ll need to reserve a time slot through OmaPSOAS.
- Read the instructions carefully and don’t overload the machines.
- Pets, bikes, baby strollers etc. should not be washed in laundry rooms.
- Tumble dryer may only be used to dry washed laundry.
- Do not use the tumble dryer at night.
π Drying Room Tips
- Dry your laundry in the drying room instead of in your home, as constant drying of laundry in the home may cause humidity problems.
- The drying room is the best place to dry your clothes to prevent moisture issues in your apartment.
- Dried laundry should be collected as soon as possible to free up space for the next user.
π Yard & Play Areas
- The outdoor spaces are for everyone to enjoy, so help keep them clean and tidy for everyone.
- If the apartment has its own yard the tenant is responsible for taking care of it.
- The playground equipment is just for the kids – no grown-up monkeying around!
- No four-legged friends allowed.
π Parking Areas
- You can reserve a parking spot through OmaPSOAS, but only park in your assigned spot or the guest areas.
- Don’t block access or leave any cords dangling. And absolutely no parking on the grass or sidewalks.
- If you see a car parked incorrectly or someone has parked in your assigned spot, contact Aimo Park to make a control request so they can handle it.
- For quick stops, just leave a note on your dashboard explaining what you’re up to.
Stay on top of these guidelines, and you’ll be a model tenant in no time! Here’s why it’s important:
Be a Good Neighbor
Taking care of the common areas shows respect for your fellow tenants. By keeping things clean and following the rules, you’re making the building a nicer place for everyone to live. No one wants to deal with cluttered hallways, messy balconies, or improperly parked cars.
Avoid Fines and Fees
Most apartment buildings have policies in place for maintaining the shared spaces. If you don’t follow the rules, you could end up facing fines or even having your vehicle towed. It’s just not worth the hassle.
Set a Good Example
When you do your part to keep things tidy, it sets a positive tone for the whole building. Other tenants are more likely to follow suit when they see their neighbors taking pride in the shared spaces.
Enjoy the Amenities
A well-kept building means you can fully take advantage of all the great amenities, from the sauna to the outdoor areas. No one wants to use a gross laundry room or find their parking spot blocked.
So stay on top of those guidelines, and you’ll be the model tenant everyone looks up to! π
