All tenants are required to pay a deposit fee before signing a tenancy agreement.
Deposit:
Shared apartments: 250 €/300 €
Studios and family apartments: 400 €
The deposit serves as a guarantee that tenants will fulfill their obligations and take good care of the apartment. Paying the deposit results in a binding tenancy agreement. Important: The deposit does not cover any rents!
Instructions for paying the deposit đź’ł
To confirm your housing, pay the deposit by the due date on the invoice. All the information you need for the payment is provided on the deposit invoice that is sent to you with the housing offer.
Important: Use the reference number on the deposit invoice to register your payment. Enter the reference number in the designated field. If this field is not available, use the free text field instead. If the deposit is not paid by the due date, the offer will no longer be valid.
Payment options
- International Bank Transfer: Use the details provided on the deposit invoice. If unsure, ask your bank for assistance.
- Online Money Transfer:
- Recommended for payments outside the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) region.

Deposit refund đź’¸
The deposit will be refunded within one month after the end of your lease. For example, if your agreement ends in May, the deposit will be refunded during June. Exact date for the refund cannot be provided. To receive your refund:
- Fill out the deposit refund form with your banking details.
- Ensure you’ve met all conditions:
- All payments have been made
- The apartment is in good condition and cleaned according to instructions
- Keys have been returned to PSOAS
Note: Failure to provide bank account details in time may delay the refund.
Potential deductions
The following may be deducted from your deposit:
- Cleaning costs (minimum charge: 50 €)
- Costs for removing items left in the apartment
- Unreturned keys
- Outstanding payments
- If the bank account is located in a non-SEPA country (Single Euro Payments Area) the Finnish bank will charge 30 € for the international transfer. The receiving bank may also charge for the transfer. Please be aware that due to these fees, the final amount received may differ from the original deposit amount, even if PSOAS makes no deductions.
