Who Is Eligible for PSOAS Housing?

You can apply for PSOAS apartments if you are studying at a post-secondary institution in Oulu (e.g. university, college, junior high school, senior high school, vocational school or equivalent). By applying early, you can improve your position among other applicants.

How To Apply

1. Set your search criteria and explore available apartments in the apartments section
2. Complete the application form (your criteria will be automatically transferred)
3. Receive optimal apartment suggestions to your email based on your application

Note: Available apartment options may vary depending on your applicant status.

Key Things to Know

• Application Period of Validity: The application is valid for 60 days and needs to be renewed after that by emailing asuntotoimisto@psoas.fi. Please mention your application number when contacting us.

• Queue Status: Queue status information is not available. We will contact you when an apartment matching your application criteria becomes available.

• Setting Realistic Criteria: While you can be specific about your preferences, remember that stricter criteria typically result in longer waiting times. Consider being flexible to increase your chances of finding a home sooner.

• Multiple Apartment Types: Although you can only select one apartment type in the main form, you can indicate interest in additional options (shared, studio, or family apartments) in the “More Information” field. Even single applicants are welcome to apply for family apartments.

• Offer Limit: To keep our queues moving efficiently and help house people as quickly as possible, we make a maximum of three offers per applicant. After receiving three offers, you’ll need to submit a new application to continue your search.

About Vacant Apartments

• Immediate Availability: Look for listings marked with a green “vacant” tag – these apartments are available for immediate occupancy with no waiting period. They’re primarily intended for new PSOAS residents.

• Important for Current Tenants: If you’re already a PSOAS tenant and interested in a vacant apartment, please note that the tenancy agreement begins immediately or by the start of next month. You’ll need to cover rent for both apartments until your current notice period ends.

• How to Reserve:

1. Click the “Reserve” button
2. Complete the application form
3. Watch for a confirmation email from our housing office (sent next business day)
