Location

Välkkylä is some seven kilometers from the Linnanmaa campus. You can reach it by bus quickly and flexible. The departments of the Faculty of Medicine, the University Hospital and Medipolis are within a few minute’s walking distance, as are the train and bus stations.

Services

Ouluhalli sports hall, swimming hall, an ice stadium and finnish baseball stadium are all in the immediate vicinity of Välkkylä. You will find three large supermarkets within half a kilometer. In Välkkylä there are 178 shared apartments, 60 studio apartments and 156 family apartments.

The tenants have access to a sauna, a computer room, a photographic laboratory and a sewing room. Välkkylä also has a municipal day-care center.

Bus connection

Välkkylä has good connections to the town and University. The buses run along Kajaanintie.
