The Board of the Pohjois-Suomen opiskelija-asuntosäätiö has selected Dr. (Tech.) Ville Isoherranen as the foundation’s new CEO. Isoherranen is transferring from his position as Vice Rector at Vaasa University of Applied Sciences. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions in both Finnish higher education institutions and international industry. Isoherranen has also served in positions of responsibility in various foundations. He is a docent at the University of Oulu.
“I am grateful for the trust shown by PSOAS’s Board. I am excited to return to Oulu to work in service of students. I look forward to getting to know the foundation’s staff, residential properties, and partners,” says new CEO Ville Isoherranen.
Isoherranen was selected as CEO from a strong and extensive pool of candidates. The position attracted over 70 applicants. The recruitment was carried out as a combination of open recruitment and direct search in cooperation with MPS-Yhtiöt.
“PSOAS is preparing for significant investments in building student housing for the future. Ville’s professional and thorough work approach, understanding of student life and higher education landscape, and strong track record in strategic development convinced PSOAS’s Board to select him to lead the foundation,” comments PSOAS Board Chairman Jonne Kettunen.
The CEO position became available as the current CEO, Juha Aitamurto, who has successfully led the foundation for over 20 years, retires on 1st of May 2025. Isoherranen will begin familiarizing himself with his new role during February, working alongside Aitamurto.
“I want to warmly thank Juha, under whose leadership the foundation has taken many steps forward. During the recruitment of his successor, it was positive to note that PSOAS as an employer attracts skilled professionals from across the country. This provides a good foundation for continuing to build the future university city,” states Board Chairman Kettunen.
